The project concerns a new residence for a four-member family, located on a plot in the residential area of Vari and developed along a north–south axis.

Taking into account the elongated shape of the plot, with access exclusively from a pedestrian street, the main design concept was the formation of the building’s layout in an “L” shape. This configuration embraces the garden and swimming pool, establishing the outdoor space as a central element around which the users’ everyday activities unfold.

The residence is developed over two levels. The ground floor accommodates the shared living areas, such as the kitchen, living room, and dining area, along with certain private-use spaces, including a guest WC. The upper floor, by contrast, houses the family members’ bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The basement functions as a space for relaxation and recreation, featuring a gym with bathroom, hammam, sauna, playroom, and office. In parallel, an independent studio apartment is included, comprising a kitchen, living area, bedroom, and bathroom. Natural light and ventilation in the basement are achieved through the placement of a centrally located cour anglaise. Additionally, the basement accommodates auxiliary spaces such as a laundry room, storage areas, mechanical rooms, and parking.

A distinctive element of the architectural composition is the building’s exterior form, with triangular terminations of the load-bearing structure that accentuate its geometry. Another striking feature is the tree that dominates the ground-floor outdoor space and extends up to the upper level of the building through a square opening.

Overall, the architectural expression is simple and contemporary, characterized by a strong sense of transparency and a seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces. The building’s form, combined with the targeted placement of large openings on the south-western side, contributes to the natural extension of the interior towards the garden and enhances its direct relationship with the water element of the swimming pool.
